Today we take a glimpse into Belmond Splendido Mare. Located in the heart of Portofino’s Piazzetta, Splendido Mare started-off over a century ago as a fishermen guesthouse. The converted 14-room and suite property is set to reopen next month after having undergone an extensive renovation over the past year. Discerning travelers will appreciate this chic hideaway that combines traditional Ligurian palettes with mid-century furnishings and exquisite materials such as Murano glass lamps, Carrara marble and Loro Piana fabrics.
Splendido Mare’s dining experience promises to be an exceptional one. With the Cerea family behind the three Michelin star Da Vittorio and Chef Roberto Villa at the helm, DaV Mare’s impeccable gastronomy and service in an understated casual setting will certainly be a highlight.
While this property would normally be operating on a seasonal basis, they are experimenting with the concept of a year-round operation and will be open this year through January 2022.
